Extraordinary day in the Kampot region close to nature
After waking up very early at 6:30, we took a Tuk-tuk to go to the start of our activity of the day located in Kampot. On the road we were treated to heavy rain. Just what it took to make our future journey even more adventurous. With two scooters for 6, we discovered the Kampot countryside, traditional villages and well-hidden temples that served as refuge during the Khmer Rouge dictatorship. Rolling in puddles and mud is good for boys. In addition to a traditional meal, we also tasted lotus flower seeds and green mango with chilli salt! We finished at 16:30 and the rain resumed more beautiful. We then returned to Kep to start packing for our departure to the capital Phnom Penh tomorrow morning.

Beautiful route and a small peek into local life!
As Bokor didn't really attract me, I tried to search for other things to do. I randomly found this tour and got excited. This wasn't a tour my hostel pointed out, luckily I'm curious. I love the countryside and I always like to see how they live there. I'm really glad that I picked this tour and skipped the rest.
I got picked up by my guide (I'm so sorry! If you read this, I should've asked how to spell your name) at my hostel. It ended up being a private tour. He was really spontaneous and enthusiastic, which I enjoyed. During the day we talked about so many things, it was nice getting this kind of insight.
The scenery is beautiful along the way! Unfortunately, a few caves were flooded. But as I just came from the caves in Mulu, this wasn't a problem. The hike around the mountains was lovely enough. He showed me all the veggies and medicine plants along the way.
We had lunch at a little local restaurant, which I really enjoyed, as this is a place you would never come by yourself.
